17. Blade Of The Immortal
Blade of the immortal is one of the most fantastic sword fighting and samurai anime.
The story is told in medieval Japan, which cursed a master swordsman named mangy with immortality.
Manji is an immoral swordsman who has been cursed with his inner life.
As a former mouth-breathing 12-year-old, I always thought getting immortality would be pretty rad.
Fast forward ten years of the future I can’t wait to die.
Like most of us, our leading man has grown tired of living.
Thus he forms a plan to regain his mortality.
He shall kill one thousand evil men for each good when he is killed.
To begin with, the yield witch, who afflicted manji with immortality, agrees to his proposition, and manji is set on his path to kill one thousand evil men.
On his journey, he meets a young girl named ren who has her vengeance to seek the sword school whose members slaughtered rin’s family.
Ren and manji trip together eachhopi ng to find some peace.
Worth mentioning blade of the immortal aired back in 2008 with 13 tv episodes, then it got rebooted in 2019 with 24 episodes.

Gangster was done by man globe, the same studio that gave us the classic anime samurai Champloo, like Sengoku basura.
Gangsta also happens to be a personal favorite of mine.
The story follows Nicholas brown and Warwick archangelo, known as the handymen.
They are mercenaries for hire who take jobs that no one else can handle or wants to control.
So if you want to take care of that one neighbor who doesn’t keep the elevator door open, you know who to call.
But in all seriousness, this is an excellent show with one of the best sword fight scenes I’ve ever seen.
I strongly recommend you give it a chance, and if you do, you need to know, unlike its excellent star.
The show’s ending is rushed and not that good due to the studio getting bankrupt during the airing of the show but don’t let that scare you off.
All in all, it’s a nice watch.
Hakuoki’s story takes place in 1864 japan, where a young woman named Chizuru Yukimura is searching for her missing father, whose work often takes him far from home.
But with no word from him and months, Chizuru disguises herself as a man and heads to Kyoto in search of him.
Attracting the attention of Ronan, she tries to hide and ends up witnessing the ronin being brutally murdered by crazed white-haired men.
In a startling turn of events, members of the shinsukini arrive to dispatch these creatures. Still, Chizuru’s safety doesn’t last long.
As this group of men tired up and took her back to their headquarters, unsure of whether to let her live or silence her permanently.
Random stuff like this further proves my resolve to stay in my room.
14. Ronin Kenshin
Ronin Kenshin is up.
This timeless classic with 94 episodes and a movie is a must-watch for both new and old fans because your journey through anime titles won’t be complete without it on the watch list.
Roni Kenshin tells the story of basusai, who disappeared at the peak of the Japanese revolution.
Since then, bakusai has abandoned his bloodstained lifestyle to repent for his sins.
He was now living as Kenshin Himura, a wandering swordsman with a cheerful attitude and a strong will vowing never to kill again.
Kenshin dedicates himself to protecting the weak again.
I can’t put enough emphasis on this Rooney Kenshin is a must-watch.
13. Hakkaden: Touhou Hakken Ibun
Hakkaden touhou hakken ibun aka eight dogs of the east.
The village home to shine Sosuke and hamaji was lit on fire.
Now surrounded by flames and on the verge of death, the three were approached by a strange man holding a sword.
He tells them that they must decide if they want to live. That night changed everything for these children.
Hmm, the plot kind of sounds very familiar to a mean o ff-brand anime I stumbled on once.
Five years later, the family of three now lives under the watchful eye of the small imperial church in a nearby village.
All is fine until the church attempts to reclaim the demonic sword of murasame.
To accomplish this, they kidnap hamaji to lure Shino.
Now a bearer of murasame’s soul and Sosuke possesses the ability to transform into a dog.
Other than cute boys, this show may be a fun ride for you if you’re into supernatural stuff, and if you’re not into it, then you can search purely kiss and watch it in the dark like the degenerate you are.

12. Tales of Zestiria the X
Have you ever wondered how an avatar would look if it were made in japan?
Well, now you have the answer to give you the plot summary.
Sorry is a human who has spent his entire life living in harmony along the strap in the village of Elysia.
Like Niko, his childhood seraphim companion, sorry explores the nearby ruins.
They are hoping to enlighten themselves about the seraphim’s history with humanity.
In case you were wondering, seraphim are a race of divine beings who give blessings to society which grants the average meatball supernatural powers.
In return, they offer their prayers to them.
Those who are anointed with the ability to interact with seraphim are known as shepherds.
They are hailed as heroes for their powers and for appearing in times of need.
Now, if you have already watched the show, you need to admit that in the final boss fight, sorry turns into a blonde avatar.
Initially made in 1969 and then rebooted in the winter of 2019, I don’t know many people who are not familiar with the classic dororo.
But just to be on the safe side, the land of the greedy samurai lord Daigo kagemitsu is dying, and he would do anything for power.
His prayers are answered by 12 demons who grant him the power he desires at the cost of his first son’s life.
Sheesh, and here I thought, dad making me go unwillingly to relative reunions was the darkest thing ever.
When kagemitsu’s first son is born, the boy has no limbs, nose, eyes, ears, or even skin, yet still, like a resilient cockroach, he lives.
As such, they dispose of him in a river and soon forget about him.
Still, as luck would have it, he is saved by a medicine man who provides him with prosthetics and weapons, allowing him to survive and fend for himself.

From a guy with weapons as limbs to a guy where the whole body is practically a sword.
This story follows shichika sure, who practices the unique sword fighting style Kyoto yuryu, a technique in which the user’s own body is wielded as a blade.
The enigmatic seventh head of the Kyoto yuri school, shichika, lives quietly in exile with his sister’s anonymity.
Until one day, the wildly ambitious strategist game barges into their lives.
Tagami requests that shichika help her in her mission to collect 12 unique swords, known as the deviant blades for the shogunate.
Chichi ka accepts interested in the girl herself rather than the petty politics and thus sets out on a journey.
Guess nothing starts quite a glorious journey other than a hot 2d chick; with that being said.
One thing that sets it apart from regular anime is that the protagonist is not only a skilled swordsman but also an immortal vampire.
Yep, you heard me right.
The fact that he’s a vampire plays a crucial role in making him an overpowered character in any situation he faces.
Initially, however, he was not a vampire as he was just an ordinary man running away with his servant binky from his pursuers who sought his life under the command of his older brother, who was the king of haiku.
On his journey to run away from his brother’s army, he meets a mysterious woman, kuromitsu.
They both fall in love, but Kuro discovers that she bears a great secret: that she’s a vampire.
Kurosi’s pursuers discover his location and launch an attack in which he is significantly injured.
The only way for him to survive was to imbibe kuramitsu’s blood which he did, giving him the powers of a vampire.
Later on, Kuros is betrayed by his servant benky leading to his beheading. a hundred years
after he wakes up when an organization known as a red army oppresses everyone in a post-apocalyptic world.
Overall the first few episodes of the anime are bound to get you hooked.
The events in the middle part are slightly pointless, but the end makes up for it.
8. Peacemaker Kurogane
Next on our list is an anime set in the early 19th century.
It follows the story of the young 15-year-old Tetsuo Ichimura, who witnessed his parent’s death at a young age which fueled his desire to join the Shinsengumi army to get stronger and ultimately get his revenge.
He also has an older brother named Tatsu nosuke, who’s a pacifist and has no desire to avenge his parent’s death.
As the older brother, he thinks he needs to carry on his parents’ wishes and ensure that his younger brother, tetsuno leads a peaceful life.
Both of these brothers make a fun duo as the older brother likes to reason and is very mature.
In contrast, the younger brother is the exact opposite, as he acts impulsively without considering the consequences they might bring him.
As the series progresses, our protagonist matures.
He frequently has to ask himself, should I become a killer and avenge my parents, or is it better off living my life peacefully as his parents would have wanted me to?
His character development as the anime progresses is pretty decent.
The anime’s animation is also pretty good, and the quality is maintained throughout the show.
Surprisingly enough, the use of CG feels pretty decent, which makes this anime well worth your time.
7. Donten Ni Warau
Now we continue the history lesson as we had another anime set in the 19th century or, to be more precise1868 during which the magi restoration occurred.
For those who are unfamiliar, it was when the practical imperial rule was restored in the Japanese empire.
Many rebelled against the system, and even after imprisonment, they somehow broke out.
The government had no choice but to make a massive prison in the middle of lake biwa to cope with the situation.
The three Kumu brothers were charged with transporting the prisoners to their final resting place because the local police were too incompetent for the job.
The major highlight of the show is not the political condition of japan; instead, it’s the three brothers themselves.
All three brothers were exciting characters, with the eldest being the most responsible and apparent figure to the younger ones.
Soramaru was the middle brother who always tried to catch up with his elder brother to prove himself.
In contrast, the youngest was the most carefree and agile.
The interaction between the brothers is a very wholesome thing to watch.
When revealed, the primary villain is a huge plot twist that you’ll not see coming is foreshadowed in the initial episode multiple times, but trust me, it’s going to blow your mind when it happens.
Although this anime is named laughing under the cloud, it’ll have some moments when you need a tissue.
With all these qualities, this anime deserves a spot on the list.
6. Brave 10
It follows the story of sanda Yukimura, who’s in search of 10 brave and robust warriors who can help him change the course of history and end all the battles in this time.
Hence the name brave 10. the story starts with a woman named Izanami who’s being chased by assassins as she heads to meet with Yukimura.
While she is being pursued, she meets an aimless man named saiso kirigakuri, a master-class ninja who saves her from the killers.
Together they both go to Yukimura and ask for his aid.
Even though there are ten brave warriors, the story usually revolves around these three main ones.
So maybe it should be named the prominent brave three and seven others lame joke, sorry.
Among our three protagonists, Izanami has mysterious powers that many people are off, so on their journey to look for exceptional warriors, they must be cautious and travel far and wide.
This show is for you if you’re looking for a lot of cool ninja fights and fast pacing.
5. Samurai Champloo
The next anime on our list is reasonably popular, which many of you probably expected. I’m, of course, talking about the anime samurai shampoo.
Samurai Champloo is an anime that follows Mugen, a fierce wild ruthless warrior with a unique sword fighting style.
On the other hand, Jin has a more traditional style, and the two samurai warriors are far from friends.
The story starts with a young, beautiful server being abused by a summarized band.
In comes a man named Mugen, who saves her and ends up fighting a man named jin because he seemed like a robust samurai, and he was right as the fight ended without either of them landing a hit on each other.
However, during their fight, they caused the death of Shibuya, and their punishment was death.
They were both set free with the help of food, and in return, however, she asked them to come along and help her find the mysterious samurai who smells of sand flowers, and in the end, they found him.
To spoil the show isn’t the critical point of the anime if you think about it.
The anime’s entire goal and plot are small and insignificant because this show is not really about the destination. It’s more about the journey.
4. Asu No Yoichi
There are also many other things about this anime that makes it worth your time.
This story starts with a young man named Yoichi karasuma, who has been training nearly his entire life with his father in the mountains.
At the young age of 17, Yoichi had mastered everything there was to learn.
So his father decided to send him to a dojo in the nearest city to keep training as a samurai and learn to live like an ordinary citizen.
This anime is fun to watch and doesn’t discuss any big themes, but every episode has some depth to it from which the average viewer can learn a thing or two and apply it to real life.
The rest of the anime doesn’t need any description.
I mean, it’s a harem anime.
You can guess the rest can’t you do.
Also Read: Isekai Harem Anime
The anime is so popular that some of you probably waited for its introduction every time I began introducing a new anime on the list.
Well, wait no more, for the next anime on our list is Gintama.
Gintama starts in the feudal era of japan with one huge fantasy aspect.
Aliens out of nowhere begin attacking the earth to take it over.
The samurais tried to defend the planet bravely but ultimately recognized that they were outgunned and surrendered.
Many years later, it follows the story of kintogi, a very old samurai who, along with his friends, is a freelancer.
The service they provide is anything.
Yep, they’ll do anything to earn their bread.
If you’re wondering about the plot, there isn’t one that ironically makes it even more hilarious as a comedy anime.
Unlike most anime trying their best to tell a story with the best character, Gintama tries to do the exact opposite.
It makes the story as absurd and senseless as possible, and guess what?
By doing that, it achieves comedy.
Now it doesn’t have a grand plot, but there are many arcs, each with a subplot of its own, and boy when things get serious, you begin to ask yourself.
Hold on, is this the same directionless anime I was watching a few episodes ago?
When it comes down to it, the themes, the fights the character developments are pretty well done in this show, making it a perfect watch.
2. Samurai X
The next anime we have is a shonen anime unlike any other, known as samurai x and Rurouni Kenshin.
The story is set in the early media era when the government implemented changes to the system to suit western culture.
However, the shogun’s council thought this was a betrayal of the Japanese culture and rebelled against them.
They lost the war because the government had more advanced weaponry, and japan had now welcomed a profound change in their way of education, economic growth, and any other thing you can think of.
They are causing a lot of people to embrace the shift, whereas others were slightly skeptical.
It follows the story of Himura Kenshin, an assassin in the bagamatsu war.
Himura Kenshin is a vagabond with a dark past and a sunny disposition.
He had killed thousands of men earning him a reputation as a furious and dangerous adversary.
However, he wishes to assume for his sins on the battlefield and to protect the people in need.
Initially, it seems like the typical shonen enemy where the protagonist will defeat all the bad guys without killing them.
However, as the story progresses, you realize that it’s not your daily shonen as the anime’s tone and theme gets darker and darker.
Many of the enemies that Kenshi faces are just victims of the changing times, making their evil motives more understandable and human.
Instead of a battle between right and wrong, this shonen anime discusses the complex political problem that resulted from changes implemented in the megi era.
The anime addresses the grey area between right and wrong, unlike any other shonen making it an anime worth watching.
In the world of this anime, there are two headbands said to give the wearer an enormous amount of power.
The number two headband wielder can challenge the one who wears the number one headband, but anyone can challenge the wielder of the number two headband.
Afro’s father was the holder of the number one headband and was ruthlessly murdered by a man named Justice, who then became the new number one wielder.
Afro swore revenge against Justice and began his journey to train and become the most influential samurai.
This anime doesn’t have the most complex characters, but it makes up for its fantastic fight scenes and visually appealing sceneries deserving a spot on the list.
well folks that’s it for our list today. did you agree or not if not then feel free to express
your list in the comments down below
and friendly piece of advice is that if
